Weldor's Continuity Assessment
In order to maintain your AWS & LADBS Weldor's Certification, you must be able to provide proof that you have continued to perform welding (Continuity), in the process you were qualified, without any of the following lapses:
AWS D1.1, Structural Welding Code Steel (SMAW, FCAW, GMAW) - A period NOT exceeding 6 months.
AWS D9.1, Sheet Metal Welding Code (GTAW, GMAW) - A period NOT exceeding 12 months.
In other words, if you're certified for Structural Steel, using Stick (SMAW), MIG (GMAW), or Flux Cored (FCAW), you have to be able to prove that you have been continuously welding without any breaks longer than 6 months.
If you're certified for Sheet Metal, using TIG (GTAW), or MIG (GMAW), you have to be able to prove that you have been continuously welding without any breaks longer than 12 months.
