Level 3 GTAW
Level 3 Welding is an Intermediate to Advanced level Gas Tungsten Arc Welding course designed for the student who has completed the Level 2 GTAW course, or who has extensive experience welding in the GTAW process. The course is designed to teach the students the ins and outs of welding thin sheet metal, and introduce them to out of position welding. Proper technique, special equipment, heat considerations, filler metal selection and basic metallurgy will be covered. Student will learn to weld stringers, padding and the basic joints in as thin as 18 gauge material, and an introduction to out of position welding.
The short term goal of this course is to teach the students how to properly weld using the GTAW process, to industry standards. This course can also lead to a student advancing to the Level 4 GTAW course, which leads to certification.

The course is offered in an "open enrollment" format, which allows a students to begin whenever space is available. Please check our calendar listing for availability.
Students must provide their own welding helmet, jacket or sleeves, proper GTAW gloves, and must wear 100% cotton, full length pants and clothing, as well as leather boots or shoes, and safety glasses, which must be worn at all times while in the shop.
