Level 3 Welding - FCAW/FCAW-G
Level 3 Welding is an intermediate Flux Cored Arc Welding workshop designed for the student who has completed the Level 2 Flux Cored Welding Workshop, or has some experience in welding with the flux cored arc welding process. The workshop is designed to teach the safe use and operation of welding machines and equipment and to continue to build upon previously learned welding skills. Proper welding technique using the E71T-8 (Lincoln NR-232/233) or E71T-1/9 (Lincoln 71M) will be emphasized. The short term goal of this workshop is to prepare the student to be able to successfully pass the Overhead (4G) portion of the performance welding test.* Test plates will be issued and used throughout this workshop and both simulated and actual performance tests will be administered.
Successfully passing this course, the Overhead (4G) performance test, coupled with passing the Vertical (3G) performance test, will qualify the applicant for LADBS Welder Certification.* LADBS Welder Certification requires a student to successfully pass the performance welding test (Vertical and Overhead plate tests) and the Department Written Exam.
